William “Glenn” Durie, P.E. is the third founding partner of Power Grid Engineering. Durie draws on knowledge gained holding several technical positions at consulting firms prior to graduation. Durie graduated from the University of Florida where he received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2001.
After graduating from UF, Durie accepted a job with Progress Energy (now Duke Energy) in the Substation Engineering department. Along with substation design projects, Durie worked closely with senior engineers and field technicians to bring best practices back to engineering. He worked in the Substation Engineering department until 2002 when he moved to the Protection and Control department. Seeing a need to increase efficiencies and consistencies within the department’s designs he took on the task of capturing technical data and design philosophies used by the department. He then created methods for the department to effectively implement the design philosophies for production.
Durie joined Power Grid Engineering in April 2007. He plays a vital role in the everyday operations of the company and overseeing the Quality Assurance program.
